Kaimhill Primary School (1)
“ It’s made school much better. I love the art and getting to experiment ”
Over the course of the first 12-week sessions at Kaimhill Primary School the Creative Practitioners and participants explored confidence and teamwork. Together we investigated different themes relating to inclusivity and the strengths found in diversity. One of the activities involved making ceramic Projection Pals that were made to represent themselves and different personality traits they intend to practice more. In preparation for the Projection Pals the previous sessions involved looking at different art forms and styles and how they can be used to represent feelings and emotions. This raised the participants awareness to be able to recognise emotions within art as well as themselves. Over the October holidays the participants took their self-made notebooks home and were encouraged to use them as visual journals to continue their emotional exploration.
Finally, it all came together with a fashion show, where the growth in confidence and skills learnt in the sessions combined in a fabulous display of outfits. It was a brilliant ending to the sessions and was great to see everyone working together while also bringing their sass. Thank you to all the young people who came and join the sessions.
